Registered Nurse primary duties:
• Oversees the proper administration of total care to our residents.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing policy and procedures.
• Observes resident, records significant reactions or adverse effects, takes appropriate action, and notifies supervisor, family (responsible party) and physician of resident’s change in condition.
• Monitors vital signs to detect deviations from normal.
• Oversees work of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Medication Aide (when applicable) to validate their compliance with nursing standards, state and federal regulations and laws, and Center policies.
• Works collaboratively with members of the healthcare team.
• Maintains standards of professional nursing practice.
• Assigns and assists with meal and rest breaks for staff.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new CNAs.
• Prepares written job performance evaluations which are reviewed by the Director of Nursing Services.
• Interprets, implements and enforces Center policies and processes.
• Efficiently communicates relevant information (patient information, safety or equipment issues, quality of care concerns, etc.) to immediate supervisor.
• Utilizes clinical decision support tools; facility protocols, medical reference materials, and sound nursing judgment, to perform clinical activity.
• Facilitates the patient and family/significant other education process.
• Addresses resident and family concerns with respect, empathy, and diplomacy.
• Follows policies for attendance, punctuality and overall dependability.
• Promptly and effectively performs all assigned responsibilities.

Registered Nurse qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid state license and CPR certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of nursing process, particularly as it relates to geriatric residents, long-term care, and rehabilitation.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to react appropriately in emergency situations.
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
• Both experienced and new grad Registered Nurses encouraged to apply.

The MDS Coordinator will provide guidance to facility employees pertaining to RAI processes and their correlation to resident care and reimbursement. This person must carefully follow revisions to MDS/PPS requirements and sure compliance with current regulations.

• Maintaining the Medicare Prospective Payment System (PPS) communication board
