Position Purpose:
Provides leadership and expertise on complex test projects to test teams, including: Planning, driving, managing, and coordinating testing activities through all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Analyzes testability of requirements
• Provides high level and detailed testing estimates
• Designs and prepares test strategy & approach, testing metrics and other testing artifacts
• Creates test cases based on requirements and conducts reviews with development team/business users.
• Prioritizes and executes functional tests and regression tests
• Reports defects, raises issues or concerns to project team
• Participates and/or leads design meetings, risk analysis meetings
• Provides leadership, training and mentoring to junior staff, interns and business testers
• Creates and maintains quality assurance standards and processes
• Monitors common business specific quality measurement frameworks and tracks improvement against predefined metrics
• Plans and deploys software testing and project management processes based on the current methodologies of the company
• Creates and monitors quality assurance related activities at both the program and project level
• Assesses risk to quality based upon results of verification and validation
• Reports software defects; raises issues/concerns regarding issue prioritization
• Coordinates activities across multiple teams, including but not limited to development and project management
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS/Engineering/Technology related field or equivalent experience and or training.
• 6-8+ years of experience in Software Testing/Quality Assurance (SQA)
• Testing tools experience (MS Visual Studio, Team System, Quality Center, HP ALM, Test Director, TFS, Mercury tools, SQL, QTP (UFT), Etc.)
• 3+ years of experience with web service testing (SoapUI, HP Service Test, SOAtest)
• Strong software analysis skills
• Advanced understanding of Quality Management and best practices with regard to testing techniques, methodologies, processes, tools, artifacts, and measurement
• Thorough knowledge of software development lifecycle
• Solid understanding of relational databases
• Advanced abilities with use of reference materials and other resources to complete tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively facilitate meetings and presentations
• Strong customer service focus
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize projects in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
