Our Plymouth, MI customer is seeking an entry-level CAE Project Engineer/FEA Engineer for a direct hire position at an open salary. No relocation package is available. Prefer U.S. Citizens and Green Card Holders, however, for the right person would consider sponsorship.
Role Purpose:
To develop high quality finite element models of the company’s ATDs in the operating software Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Pamcrash or Radioss. The engineer will be responsible to the CAE Technical Manager and will be expected to communicate regularly with the development team.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Researches and develops finite element models of ATD’s in Abaqus, LS-Dyna or Pamcrash using Humanetics modelling procedures and guidelines as assigned by the CAE Manager or Lead Engineer
• Assists the CAE lead in developing and releasing all finite element models to agreed delivery schedules and specification
• Confers with Lead to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.
• Understands the design of ATD's, considering materials, construction, instrumentation and testing in order to create accurate the finite element models.
• Confers with CAE team members to clarify or resolve problems and develop the finite element models.
• Reviews model for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
• Ensures all design and modelling information is treated in a confidential manner.
• Prepares technical reports and user’s manual for the dummy models.
• Prepares regular progress, interim and completion project reports.
• Develop new working practices and apply new software techniques to improve the quality of the dummy model, reduce time for model preparation and improve the ease of use of the model.
• Support the customers with technical questions via telephone and scheduled on-site visit as agreed with the CAE manager.
• Follows and administrates Engineering procedures and guidelines within the Company and ISO rules and regulations.

Requirements:
• Minimum of a Masters’ Degree in Biomechanical/Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering is required
• Minimum of 5 years of CAE/FEA industrial experience is required
• RADIOSS experience a plus.
• Two years CAE experience in the field of finite element modelling using Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Pamcrash software codes is preferred.
• Must be proficient in the use of Hyperworks and other pre/post-processing software.
• Understanding of impact events, material behavior and manufacturing processes
