Our Plymouth, MI customer is seeking an experienced Entry Level NVH Development Engineer (Automotive Interiors) for a direct hire position at a salary range of $60,000 (fresh out grads) to $78,000 (with a few years of experience). Summary: Candidate will be working the Product Design and Development Engineers. This position is responsible for the development of local NVH materials, parts, and processes for a given commodity which meets or exceeds customer and internal specifications and requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
• Analyze customer product NVH specifications and develop appropriate concepts / designs.
• Evaluate the NVH vehicle level characteristics and make recommendations to improve the performance.
• Working with suppliers, develop new materials and production processes which meet internal and external NVH specifications and performance requirements.
• Organize and manage the NVH materials and supplier data base
• Propose and present to internal management and the external customer NVH packages that meet or exceed the customer’s specifications.
• Participate in design reviews both internally and with the customer to ensure NVH performance criteria are maintained.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelors’ in Materials or Mechanical is absolutely required. Will analyzing materials relating to carpeting. Previously, was requiring a Bachelors’ in Chemical Engineering, but has re-evaluated that requirement and wants Materials or BSME.
• Highly prefers fresh-out of college with some internship experience (minimum of 2 summer-long internships (about 3 months each; anything less won’t be considered). Previously was looking for: minimum 3 years’ of proven experience in Vehicle NVH development (hands-on), preferably on automotive interior parts which they may still look at, but really wants fresh-out..
• Must be highly motivated, and have interest in NVH development of vehicles.
• Experience with NOVA CAE simulation software is preferred, but not required.
• Able to work in a multicultural environment.
• Result oriented with strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to make technical presentation in front of the customer as needed.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to learn on the job.
• English required; (Japanese language skills a plus).
• Availability to travel up to 25%, with some international travel.
