Byrnes & Rupkey, Inc. has an opportunity for a Laboratory Supervisor in the Danville, IL area. This position is a direct hire for a successful and innovative food manufacturing company.
Responsibilities:
• Leading the laboratory functions and providing lab testing services;
• Ensuring consistency and accuracy of records, test results, and reports complied in the laboratory;
• Scheduling and assigning work;
• Maintaining current and effective lab testing methods and procedures;
• Inspecting and monitoring lab operations to ensure adequacy of quality programs;
• Assisting the Quality staff during plant inspections,
GMP inspections, plant tours, presentations and meetings;
• Ensuring smooth transition and execution of new product introductions;
• Introducing raw material and equipment changes that may affect product quality;
• Completing special projects and assignments as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Education: 4-year degree required, Science disciplines preferred.
Required Skills:
• 3+ years of experience as a Quality Systems Supervisor;
• Food manufacturing experience;
• Training and knowledge in statistics, chemistry and microbiology;
• Advanced knowledge of SPC and quality systems, procedures and policies;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
