Territories: Ohio, Kentucky, Philadelphia and Eastern Indiana
The Specification Sales Manager is responsible for representing all Surfacing Products in the market. This is accomplished through the identification, establishment, and growth of both current and future customers in the Architectural and general contractor fields, relationship management of end-users and owners who would specify products, and technical/product training of channel partners within the assigned Territory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Works closely with Territory Sales Managers to prospect and capture major projects
• Provide timely and complete documented responses to customer requests
• Provide on-going promotion of Surfacing products through presentations and training seminars
• Serve as a industry/market resource with regard to technical data and support on all Surfacing products and their various applications
• Develop strong relationships with potential and current customers through selling interactions, promotional events, and professional associations.
• Complete required administrative duties in a thorough and timely manner, such as CRM, expense reports, project research and forecasting, etc.
• Establish and maintain a robust customer database via CRM
• Create product sales penetration via specifications and technical consultation to the community by working with architects, contractors, designers, landscape architects, facility owners and other specifiers.
• Craft technical, "substitution-proof" specifications and follow them throughout the bidding and ordering cycle.
• Develop In-depth knowledge of specifiers' needs, requirements, and concerns, and offer creative solutions to their challenges.
• Ability to analyze business opportunities and assess the viability of them based on the potential for profit
• Prioritize multiple tasks and projects moving through different phases of the sales cycle concurrently.
• Minimum 3 years Architectural/Specification selling experience
• Familiar with architectural specifications, construction design elements, and able to confidently make technical recommendations
• High levels of energy and enthusiasm, customer driven and professional
• Able to make sound business decisions and possess the ability to close a technical sale
• Excellent communication, organizational, listening, and interpreting skills
• Able to present confidently to large groups
• Proficient in MS Office, CRM, Email, and Internet communication
• Must be able to travel over-night up to 70% within assigned geography through all modes of transportation
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Sales or related field preferred or commensurate business career experience
• Experience in selling to Architectural and Construction industry channels and customers
• A minimum of 3 years proven success in exceeding sales revenue targets for specification related products or offerings and achieving compounded growth objectives
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, as well as CRM systems
• Knowledge of Building and Construction Materials and markets
