We are seeking to hire a Database Administrator (DB2 & SQL) to ensure our systems continue to operate in excellence.
As a Database Administrator (DB2 & SQL) on our team your key responsibilities will include:
1. Performing complex database administration assignments essential to the production and development of databases which include database analysis, security support, design, software use, performance monitoring and tuning.
2. Installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of databases environments supporting all business units.
Must have:
- 2+ 5 years of real-world experience as a Database Administrator (DB2 & SQL)
- Experience with DB2
- Experience with SQL Server
- Experience with SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, RAID, SAN, DTS, ETL, Crystal/Business Objects
a plus.
- Experience administering databases in a clustered environment a plus.
Your days here as a Database Administrator will have you engaged in the following:
- Managing the installation, configuration and administration of database
management systems, utilities, and tools.
- Providing support for production, QA, and development database environments.
- Daily monitoring of database backups, jobs, logs, space, utilization and other
parameters for all database environments.
- On a rotating schedule, provide night / weekend on-call support for mission
critical databases. Review all daily on-call reports as needed.
- Performance tuning to ensure database optimization, review preliminary database
designs, data analysis, and creation of new databases as needed.
- Writing coding/packages as needed to assist IT units.
- Working with users to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Deploying database patches and upgrades.
- Deploying changes to production as requested.
- Developing work plans for assigned projects.
- Creating documentation of database specifications and processes.
- Translating requirements into database specifications.
- Assisting in training new associates both within department and within business
units.
- Completing all required documentation to meet department standards.
- Adhering and maintaining a positive working relationship with all the
enterprise departments to optimize working relationships and communication.
- Adhering to privacy and confidential and proprietary company policies and
procedures(i.e. HIPAA).
- Participate in any/all training and educational activities necessary to fulfill
at least the minimum requirements as specified within your departmental goals.
This is in addition to, the completion of any activities necessary for the
maintenance of professional affiliations or organizational requirements
Educational Requirements for our Database Administrator (DB2 & SQL) role:
- BA/BS in IT or Business related field or equivalent experience
