150267 Electrical Engineer

Our customer located in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an Electrical Engineer on a direct hire basis.

The salary range for this position is dependent upon level of experience.

Reports To
Program Manager

Position Purpose
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for all the direct (concept development, tests, organization, circuit analyses etc.) and indirect (development tools, software, theoretical studies, release, etc.) activities concerning components to be implemented in the mass production of automotive convenience/comfort products and safety sensors. This role includes hands-on application based electrical activities as well as conceptual circuit development and optimization of existing HW/SW modules.

Required Qualifications
• BS Electrical Engineering required; MS Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Good understanding of project management.
• Organizational and leadership skills.
• Minimum of 3 years automotive hardware experience.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft tools and office software.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Overall technical responsibility for the hardware of the electronics module of a program or programs (customer related or internal) from start-up phase to launch plus three months. The Electrical Engineer will work with System Engineering and Design to develop components within the company system while utilizing lessons learned and applying best practices in a collaborative team environment.
• Gather, analyze, and amend electronics component and sub-component technical specifications.
• Ensure that design meets all component performance, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop specific program engineering tools:
o Component technical risk assessment and management.
o Component FA, FMEA, validation plan, and process control plan (support cross-functional development teams).
• Create and manage electronics component timing plan in accordance with customer requirements.
• Maintain electronics component due care and lessons learned file.
• Create and issue component development status and reports.
• Create and maintain the component evolution list.
• Participate in Gate and Design Reviews.

Authority
• Leads identified electronic support personnel with supervision (Design Technician, Test Lab).
• Interact with customers and suppliers as required.
• Create and manage component design, development and support validation timing.
• Release electronics per directed milestones needed to meet customer requirements.
• Ordering of technical documentation, new materials and new products which are current development activities.
