AthenPollo is looking for a Senior Windows Systems Engineer - HP Blade Technology to support a leading provider of information technology services client. This is a Long Term Contract position based at New York City, NY.
Job Title: Senior Windows Systems Engineer HP Blades
Job Type: Long Term Contract
Location: NYC,NY
Skills/Qualifications:
This person must have good hands on experience, understand HP Blade technology and troubleshooting.
Must have strong experience in VMware and all the facets of virtulazation and be versed in all aspects of Windows administration and migration.
Plan with Application owners to migrate applications from Windows 2003 servers to Windows 2008 or higher:
Document migration steps and action items
Assist with creating the Change requests
Engage required infrastructure teams to successfully implement the change e.g. Networking and Storage teams
Provision required VMs (priority are those for Berg buildout)
Ensure that Windows 2003 servers are decommissioned post migration
Provide ongoing support for the VMware environment:
Perform installations of ESXi on HP Blades
Plan and execute hardware upgrades for ESXi hosts
Upgrade ESXi versions on all clusters to the latest authorized patch level
Perform daily operational tasks based on findings in vCOPs to maintain health of the VMware environment
Provide Windows and VMware support for implementing DR solutions for Berg
Create and update Visios for applications showing logical/physical/network/storage layouts and dataflow
Provide input for the creation of DR solutions for various applications
Assist in the implementation of the DR Solutions for various applications
Assist with getting applications set up in SRM using vSphere replication
