Architect, Audio Visual and Video Teleconferencing
Projects: Immersive Video Conferencing
The Audio Visual Architect is responsible for the roadmap, design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of all AV & Video Conference systems. This includes the re-design and engineering of both current and future technologies. Provide full life cycle support on an enterprise level for video conferencing, network streaming, and audio visual technology. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of Audio Visual, Video Conferencing, Telepresence and video wall solutions.
MUST have knowledge of existing technology from Polycom, Microsoft, Cisco Lync, Avaya and Crestron. Must have a track record of providing exceptional customer service.
Will play a critical role in efforts related to the growth, design, and engineering of our Video Conference Strategy.
-Leads upgrades and installations of AV systems across the enterprise.
-Creates annual and multi-year plans for upgrades of existing AV equipment.
-Manage and maintain Multimedia Streaming Systems and Video Teleconferencing (VTC)
-Researches, recommends, and implements new and emerging audio and video technologies. This includes video conferencing, desktop video conferencing, web conferencing, streaming and mobile video delivery, high quality video over IP, HD video production, digital signage solutions, conference room collaboration systems, podcasts, electronic whiteboards, tablets, and other advances in AV digital delivery for enterprise use.
-Engineer and install new components within the existing video conference bridging solutions, conference room collaboration solutions (content sharing) and incorporate the appropriate audio components and control systems to enable our cross-platform deployment. Interoperability between Polycom, Cisco, Lync, Avaya and Crestron technology a plus.
-Works closely with Desktop Services manager on coordinating staffing for events, and meetings requiring AV assistance.
-Trains Desktop Services staff members and others in IT on existing and new technology.
-Responsible for completing site surveys, designing solutions based on requirements, estimating, and installing.
-Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all AV equipment and systems that are required to provide acceptable service levels for the business.
-Is on call 24x7 to handle emergencies or outages as the need arises.
-Monitors a regular schedule for the preventive maintenance of previously mentioned systems.
-Works closely with the IT Project Management Office and Newbuild departments on planning, designing, and engineering new IT projects for shoreside and shipboard.
-Continues to update documentation of all mentioned systems that are in place as well and any new systems that come online.
-Owns relationships with the vendors that maintain, service, and sells existing and future systems.
-Recommends measures to improve work procedures and employee performance to increase quality of services and job safety. Establishes standards to be maintained across the global data center environment.
Required skills/competencies:
BS Degree with minimum 5+ years of experience to include the following:
• Knowledge of video conferencing systems Webex, and BlueJeans web conferencing software.
• Comfortable with computer software including web capturing systems, digital editing software, web video encoding and codecs.
• Comfortable with Mac/PC operating systems.
• Strong interest in emerging technology
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to lead and manage complex projects with a variety of clients
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of AMX, Extron, and Creston programming a plus.
• Knowledge of Polycom, Cisco, Lync, Avaya and Crestron technology a plus.
Required Certifications:
Certifications: CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D Certification preferred.
