Responsibilities
• Function as a project leader to plan, research, and design elements of security throughout a process or system development life cycle.
• Participate in strategic sourcing process for acquiring infrastructure security assets and infrastructure services, including selection, negotiations and contract finalization
• Develop and continuously refine overall security architecture in support of our business and provide security upgrade strategies.
• Ensure the implementation and ongoing support for all security measures necessary to comply with HIPAA, customer requirements and all applicable State and Federal regulations.
• Research cyber security trends and areas of concern and assist in development of advanced analytical models capable of identifying anomalous activity.
• Help develop and maintain security policies/configuration and communicate security standards.
• Support and maintain security systems/applications in environment installed at customer location (e.g. Central Audit Logging/Monitoring, Proxy and Threat detection systems)
• Daily review of security-related logs and data from multiple sources including but not limited to events from Log aggregation tools, malware detection, and firewall and system logs.
• In working with the customer and partners, develop and maintain security plans, procedures, and other documentation as required.
• Coordinate with technology, engineering and support teams to recommend techniques to mitigate or and remediated identified risks and ensure toolsets used to detect infrastructure security events are deployed on all necessary platforms.
• Assist with data protection initiatives and other programs as necessary.
Qualifications
• Minimum five years of experience in Security or IT management
• Strong Networking and Network security
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of UNIX/Linux.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
• Familiarity with Perl, Shell, and SQL (scripting).
• Experience with NIST 800-53 controls and application/implementation of controls in production environments.
• Dedicated to achieving project schedules and milestones.
• Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities while staying a team player.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. Self starter able to work with minimal supervision.
• Solid foundation in reporting and creating metrics
• Ability to work with different groups and diverse projects as a partner
• Able to demonstrate respect for diversity in opinions, people and approaches
• Security or control related certification (e.g. CISA, CISSP)
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline or the equivalent technical training and work experience;
