The candidate for this position is ideally someone that has the experience to perform database support, administration, and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Servers, Data Warehouse (DWH), and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. This role requires the individual to be able to exhibit analysis and discovery of internal and external data sources critical to business decision makers, and the import, incorporation and modeling of the information to deliver key performance indicators for data driven business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for verifying accuracy of data, and maintaining and supporting the data warehouse.
Create, maintain and monitor ETL routines according to the DWH design and architecture.
Monitor the DWH and BI systems performance and integrity provide corrective and preventative maintenance as required.
Design and implement Data Warehousing and BI solutions using Dimensional Modeling and Star Schema.
Analysis and design of OLAP cube dimensions and measures.
Design and create reports based on business requirements.
Develop reporting applications and data warehouse consistency.
Investigate information issues and reporting problems.
Become a subject matter expert with chosen business intelligence tools and development standards and best practices related to reports and all related objects.
Write supporting documentation including technical specifications, test scripts, test results, change control, implementation checklists, production support instructions, data models and data flow diagrams.
Assist with additional I.T. related tasks as needed.
Daily Support and administration tasks.
Qualifications/Skills:
Understand Data Warehousing principles and methodologies desired
Foundational knowledge of database principles
Familiar with MS SQL Server
Familiar with SQL Server Analysis Services, and data cubes
Strong knowledge of SQL with ability to write and tune complex queries
Experience using Lawson Business Intelligence & Business Performance Warehouse (LBI/BPW) desired but not required
Experience with Infor M3 ERP desired but not required
Experience designing and creating reports
Experience with Excel, Excel Pivot Tables and Power Pivot
Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills as it pertains to job responsibilities
Excellent detail with strong critical-thinking, independent research, and problem solving skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (MIS, CS, CIS) or other related experience in IT.
