A Senior IT Security Engineer is needed for growing corporation located in the High Point, North Carolina area.The Sr. IT Security Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of information systems security to ensure the protection of information processed, stored, or transmitted. Sr. IT Security Engineer will also provide technical leadership and manage implementations and activities to provide effective IT Security for the Company; provide direction to a team that ensures effective IT Security for assigned
systems, networks, and information: Will be responsible for developing and implementing policy, managing IT Security activities, and monitoring and supporting systems: Ensure appropriate availability and service levels of operational IT services. In addition to work assignments, responsibilities including managing and providing leadership to all team staff and operations, career development, and performance management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide project management expertise for all aspects of IT Security Systems, planning, scheduling, design, acquisition, development, testing, implementation, and support efforts.
2. Recommend and approve IT Security Architecture/Design, plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with IT standards and overall IT Security strategy.
3. Direct the development of techniques and procedures for conducting IT Security Risk Assessments and Compliance Audits; the evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware, and software for possible impact on system security; and the investigation and resolution of security incidents.
4. Work independently to organize and coordinate overall implementation, execution, and testing of IT Security processes
5. Monitor applications and systems and take appropriate action to ensure security requirements are met.
6. Manage outsourcing work and coordination with the vendor project manager(s).
7. Design, implement, and execute appropriate standardized procedures for department activities and to ensure the availability of systems and data.
8. Monitor staff performance in resolution of production problems as well as in the design, development, testing, and implementation of security systems.
9. Develop and maintain documentation supporting all phases of IT Security.
10. Understand the technical environment at a level to successfully mange IT Security activities.
11. Assess security and business impacts of potential events or conditions
12. Coordinate development of schedules for periodic IT Security documentation, maintenance and updates, exercises, and independent review and validation.
13. Ensure that IT complies with existing laws and regulations and that the enterprises IT
14. Direct security audits and tasks to ensure that the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information are not compromised
15. Consult with SR. IT and business leaders regarding their information security risks and responsibility in minimizing those risks
16. Maintain reliable, up-to-date information from the government and across the industry regarding identification of new threats and vulnerabilities
17. Provide information security expertise and support as needed.
18. Conduct team activities following established department guidelines and standard tools, IT service management (ISO 20000), work project management (PRINCE2), information security, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. BS/BA degree
2. 7-10 years experience in IT Management, IT Security Management, and Project Management
3. Current professional certification in the IT Security field. (CISSP)
4. Strong Project Management skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates.
5. Strong PC skills and familiarity with administrative processes
6. Understanding of IT Security, IT Systems, and networking concepts
7. Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
8. Strong data analysis skills, including querying, analysis, and reporting
9. Strong verbal/written communication skills. Must be able to interface with and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with people in remote locations
10. Attention to detail and ability to follow specific processes.
