DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Define and implement applicable UI/UX best practices for various company platforms including internal systems, customer communications, online presence and mobile app
• Develop UI/UX guidelines and templates including testing practices and plans to improve user experience and increase user engagement
• Serve as company SME (subject matter expert) on all UI/UX issues, including leading and teaching others
• Design and manage usability testing and refinement
• Maintain site UI architecture across all platforms.
• Collaborate with Design Team, SME’s & Product Owners to conceptualize new products as well as improve existing solutions
• Create UX specifications, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
• Develop User interfaces including framework, business logic, interactive controls
• Integrate with back-end APIs (Restful & WCF)
• Participate in the daily scrum and sprint planning
• Work within an Agile team designing & performing functional analysis, usability studies.
• Promote continuous improvement of UI/UX as a whole
QUALIFICATIONS
• A UX Portfolio of work demonstrating applied knowledge of user-experience best practices, including process flow, visual design, and intuitive navigation.
• Ability to turn business goals into successful, user-centric and elegant designs, as proven by usage data/analytics
• 3-5 years UI/UX development for high transactional multi-platform eCommerce websites (responsive web & mobile apps) AND content sites that monetize by serving ads
• Understanding of SEO and data analysis; experience with research tools like Google Analytics, Moz, Spyfu, etc
• Deep knowledge and proficiency with Javascript, CSS 3, HTML 5
• Heavy experience with packages like JQuery
• Strong knowledge of MVC/MVV design patterns & best practices
• Experience integrating with REST APIs
• Strong understanding of back-end basics: web servers, cookies, databases
• Experience with UI frameworks like Bootstrap, Kickstrap, Backbone, Node, AngularJS, EmberJS
• Experience with front-end tooling and workflow automation (Grunt, Yeoman, Bower)
• Experience in an Agile or Lean UX environment
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Build experience, version control (GIT), package management, automated test suites, and continuous integration
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, emerging growth environment and able to deliver on schedule
• Knowledge of user experience best practices
• Continuous improvement of UI experience as a whole
