Continuing Education Product Specialist at LexisNexis in Miamisburg, OH

As the Continuing Education Product Specialist your key roles and responsibilities will include: The Continuing Education Product Specialist role is responsible for actions in the accomplishment of continuing education product goals and objectives. This position works closely with the Product Planner and Lead. The Continuing Education Product Specialist supports the program by timely execution of operations tasks as well as facilitates in the development and delivery of quality materials related to learning interventions.

Accountabilities:

Operations:
• Track and report product line performance.
• Perform due diligence and lead innovation for LexisNexis University platform operations, including cataloging all necessary parts of set up, student groups, maintaining curriculum, security settings, and platform communication abilities.
• Assist Product Planner with competitive intelligence on a regular basis; assess number of courses, types of courses, practice areas, pricing options, course materials. Provide reports to Lead Developer and Lead Editor with recommendations, at least once or year or as needed based on changing competitive environment.
• Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for future product development, including monitoring customer feedback and responding to customer concerns. Identify opportunities for collaboration and leveraging resources across the organization.
• Proactively manage: promotion code program, setting up and retiring trial IDs, customer password reset requests
• Troubleshoots operational issues and provide suggestions for continuous improvement of processes.
• Implement operational efficiencies to support best practices, adherence to milestone publication dates.
• Identify project risks and mitigation plans; manage issue resolution

Marketing:
• Work with the Product Planner and marketing team in development of marketing
• Collaborate with Marketing to create support materials, promotional campaigns and schedule.
• Update marketing documents on a regular basis, including, but not limited to: rollout doc, catalogue (as classes are released), flyers, and contracts.
• Work with Product Planner to plan for program promotions through LexisNexis University, Salesline communications throughout the year. In addition, research, develop and execute plans for delivering alternative methods of interlinking other products w/ Continuing Legal Education for developing courses, consider tie-ins with print publishing, etc.
• Work with sales to finalize pricing, sales motion, training and revenue targets.
• Represent Assigned Content. Work with Product Planner to effectively convey the value proposition and differentiating factors inherent in assigned individual products for an assigned practice area to marketing, sales and customers.
• Maintain databases to manage customer renewals
• Manage presenter communications and system processes to support presenter participation
• Customer Assistance. Help customers with product-specific inquiries for assigned products.

Editorial responsibilities at the direction of Product Planner and Editorial Lead:

• New Content Development. participate in new content development in support of the program strategy by developing high quality, innovative products that meet the needs of our markets by delivering new products and enhancements to premium product lines on an aggressive timeline. Such as enhancing ebooks with multimedia content, expanding education product line to include Continuing Professional Education in the areas of Tax and Accounting (not limited to), us of videos in online newsletters, etc.
• Assist Product Planner and Editorial Lead by recommending authors and organizations to contact about obtaining information about existing and anticipated markets, historical and prospective statistics, legal and practice developments, product requirements and preferences, and competition; as needed, provide product-specific knowledge to business unit leaders to help prepare marketing plans and ideas for new or revised products.
• Assist in development, proofing and quality check of educational aids created to support on demand content
• Establish and maintain appropriate communications within and between various functional areas as required for successful growth of assigned product lines.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience (or two years with a master's degree)
• Requires a minimum of 1-3 years of product development/management or marketing experience. Information services, legal industry and publishing product experience a plus.
• Knowledge of and experience with training development, adult e-learning principles and learning program development with solid knowledge around effective instructional design practices.
• Must demonstrate customer oriented demeanor and conduct.
• Aptitude for working with minimal direction. Attention to details and dependability are necessary. This position requires the flexibility to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with flexibility, including time management skills to meet rigid and frequent deadlines.
• Ability to develop, plan, and execute publishing projects from inception to conclusion for specific publication products. Demonstrated by managing project implementation through each step including definition, tracking, editing, and production.
• Applying demonstrated quantitative analysis ability to formulate publishing products, plans, and projects.
• Proven ability achieving specific results on publishing projects with specified years of publishing experience in prioritizing, multi-tasking, and supporting pursuit of key initiatives.
• Demonstrated excellent written and communication skills and project management skills.
• Enthusiasm for publishing and ability to energize others.
• Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization -- to organize resources across departments and complete projects in a timely manner within a matrix organization.
• Solid computer and technical skills to create and support general and segment-specific training as well as manage program administration.
• Types of machines, tools, and equipment and software used: personal computer, telephone, calculator, and other common office equipment. Software including MS Office, project applications, Sharepoint and LMS systems.
