Structural Designer, Senior Level - # 2721
Job Summary:
The Structural Designer will work with the Structural Engineers and Lead Designer to develop the structural design for industrial plants, and will work with the design team to assure that correct and consistent quality drawings are produced.
DUTIES:
Job Responsibilities:
Producing 3D structural steel drawings using CADWorx.
Understand the project and CAD standards and work with the QA/QC checklists while completing work making sure work complies with project standards and QA/QC standards are followed
Communicate problems encountered during drafting.
Understand changes and why they were necessary
Work with the Lead Designer, Engineer, and Team Leader to make sure project requirements are met.
Responsible for checking own work
Responsible for drawing to scale and using snaps, ortho, etc.
Sign-off on the drawing as described in the QA/QC Process
Complete the work within the allotted time for the task/drawing
Qualifications:
Must have 3D design software experience such as CADWorx, Plant 3D, Autoplant, etc. CADWorx training may be provided to a Structural Designer who has strong experience in another 3D CAD software.
Must have experience in the preparation of an overall 3D structural model
A senior designer is prefer, however may consider a more junior candidate with a minimum of 5 years industrial structural design experience.
Experience developing structural and foundation layouts and details for structures .
Demonstrated experience preparing general arrangements and developing the general structural details
Experience managing work points for a facility and Xref between disciplines and 3D models
Oil and gas, process plants, heavy steel experience is a strong plus
We are looking for designers that reside in the local area as this is a contract to direct hire position for the right candidate, or if candidate prefers long term contact position.
