Position: Senor Solutions Architect

Location: Rockville, MD

Travel: 10%

Job Description:

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to provide solution strategy and management support to our Software Engineering and IT Infrastructure Support Services. Responsibilities will include:

Corporate Strategy/Management Support
•Develop and execute a solution strategy and business plan that support company growth
•Shape, design, and plan specific service solutions in response to proposals and in support of specific customer requirements
•Work with program staff to develop standard methodologies based on industry best practices/frameworks
•Establish, lead and support technical communities of interest (COI)
•Identify and lead/guide development of differentiating solutions

Subject Matter Expertise
•Survey market landscape for solution insights, direction, vendors, and methods
•Speak at trade conferences and seek authorship opportunities in trade publications

Business Development/Capture
•Take ownership of developing solutions in response to request for proposals in the areas of Software Engineering and IT Infrastructure Services (i.e., Data Center Modernization and Operations, NOC, SOC, Service Desk, etc.).
•Collaborate with the business development team by serving as a SME to help identify and qualify business development opportunities
•Collaborate and coordinate with proposal team on RFP and RFI responses, including storyboarding, writing, compliance checks, color reviews, selection of appropriate and relevant past performances, vet resumes of proposed key personnel
•Lead/support technical capture activities
•Provide end to end solution and design details
•Lead development of solution ConOps
•Serve as Book Boss for technical volume on major proposals
•Input to pricing strategy

Business Units/Operations
•Interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical resources. Collaborates with Project Managers and technical directors to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and serve as a lead as required, to implement the installation, customization, and integration efforts
•Provide technical guidance to programs as needed to resolve technical or performance issues (e.g., implementation, quality, SLAs)
•Collaborate with PMs to identify technical and process improvements on projects
•Support programs in technical engagements with customers for technology planning, new methodologies, innovations, additional scope, etc.

Methodology and Quality Assurance
•Lead development of formalized solution methodologies
•Oversee aspects of project life cycle, from initial kickoff through requirements analysis, design and implementation phases for projects within the solution area
•Write, or direct the writing of white papers that add further insight and thought in the solution area

Work Force Management, Supervision and Mentoring
•Assists staffing coordinators who define project team requirements for projects in solution area
•Work with Delivery Services Director to define overall recruiting needs and expertise in solution area
•Work with Director of Delivery Services to establish professional development needs for practitioners in solution area

IT Corporate Support
•Oversee IT department day-today activities, operating budget, and monitor customer satisfaction levels
•Ensure security of IT/network/telecomm systems and compliance with requirements for privacy and protection of information assets
•Develop and implement IT roadmap, and work with IT administrator(s) to plan and schedule technology upgrades

Minimum qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
•Master's of Business Administration (MBA) with a heavy concentration in the technological side of business administration.
•10+ years of experience as Solutions Architect for mid-size companies in the areas of Software Engineering and IT Infrastructure Support Services (i.e., Data Center Modernization and Operations, Mobile Services, NOC, SOC, Service Desk, Cloud Services, etc.) in the Federal Contracting environment.
•Experience in multiple hardware/software/operating systems
•Experience in finance, accounting, human resources, business development, and management as well as networking, information security, and systems design.
•5+ years of experience supporting developing solutions in response to request for proposals for the Federal government.
