Our Troy, MI customer is seeking an experienced Mold Designer/Engineer (Supervisor-Level) for a contract-to-hire (min. 6 months or direct hire at a $80,000-$90,000 salary. NO SPONSORSHIP. Prefer local candidates, but will relocate for the right person that meets all of the requirements. Job Overview: Candidate will work with the company’s product development team and tooling team to update tool designs, organize files and design improvements into existing 3D assemblies plus full mold designs for new products. Position will interface with suppliers, tool room team and molding team. Candidate must be organized and have great attention to detail. Training will be provided in the company’s standards and specific job responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the tooling team and molding team to create robust tools
• Organize electronic files for projects and keep data base of designs up to date
• Generate 3D and 2D for mold details and assemblies
• Trouble shooting of existing designs to solve issues
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of plastic injection mold design is required.
• In-depth experience in Pro-Engineer Wild Fire 3 or Catia V5 or Solid Works. Any AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications is required.
• Experience in the automotive industry involving close tolerance parts highly desired.
• Any mold shop experience would be beneficial.
• Computer skills with strong knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point are required.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate both internally and externally.
• A proven track record of problem solving, critical thinking, and performing under pressure.
• Completion of assigned projects in allotted time with expected results.
• Support of Company goals and business objectives.
• Performs related tasks as needed.
