As an Architect, you will provide customers technical leadership in the architecture, design, and implementation of cloud, virtualization, and/or networking solutions and services. You will help to document best practices in developing and deploying the solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Provide though leadership in virtualization and cloud solutions and services
• Build and maintain confidence of colleagues and customers
• independently conduct small to medium engagements with customers
• Work with cross functional teams to deliver engagements
• Maintain current knowledge of the industry trends and products/solutions for virtualization, cloud infrastructure, management and automation, network virtualization and software defined storage
• Deliver services for these solutions in a timely and effective manner
• Assist in the development of reusable consulting service offerings, including definition of tasks, deliverables, and standard estimates
• Help identify and document best practices in developing and deploying solutions
Requirements:
• Current VMware Certified Professional certification required
• 8+ years relevant experience
• Practical experience in design and implementation of VMware cloud solutions using VMware vCloud Automation Center, vCloud Application Director, vCenter Orchestrator, vCloud Networking and Security or NSX, vSphere, VMware vCenter Operations Manager.
• Experience in the design and implementation of OpenStack highly desirable (OpenStack Glance, Swift, Nova, Horizon, Quantum/Neutron, Cinder)
• Experience with automation and orchestration solutions like vCenter Orchestrator, Puppet, and CHEF highly desirable
• At least 3 years experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services consultant or engineer, preferably with an Internet, "Big 5" consulting, or Service Provider organization
• At least several years experience in infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems environments, incorporating availability, manageability, security, performance, and application requirements
• Proven ability to provide productive project planning and project management
• Strong practical Unix or Linux and Windows systems administration skills
• Understanding of computer server architectures, including storage (FC, iSCSI, NFS, RAID), networking, security, and infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, AD, NTP)
• Familiarity and experience with systems management concepts, IT service management processes and standards
• Understanding of modern IT production data center and service provider operations
• JavaScript, Perl, Python, Windows PowerShell or Unix shell
