The Branch Manager is responsible for assisting the Senior Home Delivery and Operations Manager in executing all service objectives for both Home Delivery and Single Copy. The Branch Manager may manage the results and expectations of service within a specific geography. The Branch Manager is also responsible for ensuring all supporting systems such as RouteSmart and Syncronex are up to date for local market use. The Branch Manager will also interface with the various managers, departments and Independent Contractors and Distributors, supporting the overarching objective to provide exemplary service to all customers.
•Work directly with distributors (Home Delivery and Single Copy) to ensure daily effective, efficient and timely delivery of newspapers and other related materials.
•Set, and manage against customer service goals and metrics for the individual branch. Regularly look for opportunity to control cost.
•Is responsible for timely and accurate distribution to business and residential addresses.
•Oversee management of all distribution products to maintain integrity and ensure accurate distribution practices.
•Maintian positive relationships with internal and external customers as required to achieve department and company goals.
•Is responsible to ensure all company policies and goals are enforced.
•As required, interface with Single Copy and TMC/SDS Independent Contractors to facilitate transfer of information and product.
•Receives general direction working from established policies and objectives. Employee plans and carries out assignments and resolves most conflicts that arise. Completed work is checked only to determine feasibility and compatibility with other work, or effectiveness in meeting objectives of the unit
Qualifications
•A college degree and 2 years experience OR 5 years of management experience required
•Newspaper/print media experience or other relevant distribution/delivery service experience
•Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Must successfully complete a background check and drug test.
•Must have a valid driver’s license and insured dependable transportation. Must have the ability to travel locally within the greater Austin District.
•Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Position may include temporary or permanent relocation to other offices.
•Has authority or responsibility of a unit, section or major function and typically manages the expected outcome of Home Delivery and Single Copy Distributorship Contracts
•May be expected to assist with route delivery
