The purpose of this position is to support the overall manufacturing operation and facility infrastructure by performing advanced repair, installation, and maintenance activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
•Ensures equipment, machinery, tools, and other items used by technician are operated properly.
•Understands how to handle machine properly during an emergency, which includes power outages, machine failure, workplace injuries, etc.
• Ensures knowledge of state and federal workplace safety regulations, including OSHA and IOSHA.
• Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines; wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
•Understands and performs Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
•Trains other maintenance technicians on safety procedures and guidelines
•Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately.
Quality
• Follows plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s
• Assists in ensuring all department facilities, shops, and offices are compliant with 5S and AIB standards for cleanliness and visual management.
Maintenance
•Performs the following tasks on manufacturing machinery and equipment:
•Testing and visually inspects.
• Listening for unusual sounds from machine or equipment to detect malfunction and discussing machine operation variations with supervisors or other Maintenance Technicians to diagnose problem or repair of machine or equipment.
•Dismantling of defective machines and equipment and installation of new or repaired parts.
•Installing and repairing of electrical apparatus as determined by training and skill set of technician.
o Performs the following type of maintenance activities:
o Advanced Electrical and controls system work .
o Programming
o Setup
o System integration
o Troubleshooting and repair of complex industrial machine control systems.
o Pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
o Coordinates and assigns other technicians to complete preventive maintenance tasks.
General & Administrative
•Completes and fills out required paperwork, logs and related materials
•Mentors, supports and assists other Maintenance Technicians.
• Assists Maintenance management in scheduling, managing and training employees
• Carries out activities in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and applicable laws
• Assists with facility start-up and closing as required.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
•5-7 years of maintenance tech experience within a manufacturing environment.
•AA/AS degree in related field.
•5-asix CNC equipment/control knowledge.
•Mentoring abilities
•Highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic.
•Ability to work in team environment with outstanding organization and documentation skills.
•Experience with Thermoforming manufacturing equipment is a plus.
• Electro-mechanical troubleshooting/schematics knowledge.
• Electromechanical hands-on maintenance/repair skills and experience
• PLC troubleshooting knowledge (Allen Bradley preferred.)
• Experience with RSLogix-5000 interface software is a plus.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• HVAC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• General facilities maintenance experience is a plus.
