SUMMARY:

The Plant Manager leads and drives all aspects of the manufacturing process, including safety, scheduling, production, quality and hourly labor relations within the facility to ensure that production goals are met, and customers are thrilled with our quality products and solutions. We’re in search of a proven manager and change agent that can develop a team and help us continue to be the industry leader. You will exhibit a continuous improvement approach in aspects of the business with a high level of energy and passion for satisfying all customer requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent is responsible for managing the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation in supply chain, production and maintenance operations in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

1) Confers with management personnel to establish delivery, and quality standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
2) Utilize Lean and Continuous improvement principles to improve operational processes to reduce waste and optimize flow through the facility.
3) Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
4) Oversee the implementation of new MRP system and current planning and inventory control processes are optimized as part of any system package.
5) Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
6) Revise production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure, operating problems, or key customer demands.
7) Works closely with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
8) Implement performance management program inclusive of objectives, performance coaching and feedback, and training.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:
Degree in a manufacturing related discipline, Engineering or Operations preferred. Degrees in other disciplines may be acceptable, in conjunction with suitable experience and accomplishment.
• Additionally candidate should have training and credentials in Operational Excellence techniques and tools, similar to Lean Six Sigma.

EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

*10-15 years manufacturing supervision and leadership experience, preferably with products machined and formed from metal.

*Experience managing a factory, focus factory, production plant, etc., of at least $20M annual sales and 25 people, direct and indirect reports.

*Inherently sound human resource values and problem resolution skills.

*Has led manufacturing departments and plants to achieve improved performance against traditional manufacturing metrics.

o Ability to understand and effectively apply financial measurements

o Experience in leadership roles at both executive level and on the shop floor.

o Direct and supervisory experience with supply chain optimization, and production planning.

o Experience with MRP platforms

o Demonstrable accomplishment in continuous improvement

o Preference for individuals with certification in Lean Six Sigma and ASQ or equivalents.

o Accomplished at needs analysis, addressing issues and meeting deadlines.

o History of good customer relations skills, as well as interdepartmental cooperation.

o History of maintaining and advancing personal skills via training opportunities.

o Clear evidence of successful skill development of those reporting to this person, direct and indirect.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

COMPENSATION:

A rewarding compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes an excellent base salary plus eligibility in a year-end bonus program based upon achievement of operational objectives.
