Summary: Under general supervision, performs laboratory analyses in the testing of raw materials, in process (IP), finished products (FP) and stability (ST) samples, performs maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments, and prepares standard and sample solutions. Carries out laboratory work to support product development, exhibit batch testing, method development and validation, laboratory investigations and performance of non routine testing such as method comparisons, method validations and reference standard qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related science field from an accredited college or university, and one (1) year related laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Wants a candidate that has at least one year related laboratory experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Incumbents in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting materials and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds, vision to monitor, and moderate to loud noise levels. Incumbents maybe exposed to toxic materials, toxic gases, electrical hazards, dangerous tools and equipment and the antibiotics penicillin and cephalosporin. Work is performed in a laboratory environment.
