Registrar
POSITION TITLE: ACCESS TO CARE
EFFECTIVE DATE: 2015

REPORTS TO: REGISTRATION MANAGER
FACILITY: GILMORE
CITY: LAKELAND
JOB STATUS: Full-time Permanent FLSA: Non Exempt
(7:30-5:30 M-T / 7:30 Noon F)
Job Summary:
Answer high volume of incoming calls
Schedule appointments
Respond to customer inquiries
Obtain customer information
Route calls to appropriate departments
Complete reports
Verify insurance eligibility
Data entry of patient information
General Expectations:
In the performance of their respective task and duties, all employees are expected to conform to the following:

Essential Duties/Requirements/Activities:
• Answer all incoming phone calls
• Interview patients over the telephone
• Verify insurance eligibility
• Data entry, scheduling process of new and existing clients
• Update clients records, address and fee schedule-
• Complete DCF referrals, Department of Corrections and Outreach referrals
• Complete financials and authorizations for insurance
• Identify and ensure that the initial authorizations necessary for payment are obtained
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma/GED
Experience:
2-3 years secretarial experience, preferably in a Medical Facility
6 months or more experience in a call center like environment

None
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent phone etiquette skills
Answer phones professionally
Excellent verbal communication skills
Listening skills
Stress tolerance
Highly motivated, able to learn quickly and prioritize multiple tasks
Typing- minimum 45-50 wpm
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Excellent data entry skills
Ability to deal with stressful situations and irate patients
Ability to handle multiple task and heavy telephone traffic
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks
Ability to make competent, independent decisions
Proactive approach for obtaining authorizations necessary for clients covered by managed care
Ability to review, record and report information relevant to authorizations
Ability to work independently

Must have reliable transportation
May be required to travel to another facility out of town
