SUMMARY:
Management Business Solutions (MBS) is seeking a 2nd shift Shipping Supervisor with a manufacturing client in Grand Rapids, MI. This individual will oversee shipping in 24x7 manufacturing environment and ensure that inventory is maintained accurately through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts and audits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Train and monitor performance of warehouse shipping and receiving employees
Provide clear performance expectations and accountability to meet on-time delivery and receiving requirements
Ensure department operation metrics are established and delivered
Implement corporate programs and best practices
Coordinate with third party logistics (3PL) provider for logistics operations, including but not limited to cross docking
Coordinate inventory transfer between production floor and off-site warehouse
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain preferred
4+ years supervisory experience leading a logistics department accountable for shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
Experience in manufacturing environment required
Ability to quickly learn computer systems and software such as SAP and warehouse management systems
Ability to work 70% on the floor and 30% in the office
