Nurse Practitioner (Oncology) - bring smiles, compassion and a care plan!
We are an outpatient specialty practice in beautiful San Antonio, Texas that is getting ready to add a new member to our energetic team of Nurse Practitioners. If you are a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with Oncology experience, our team is here waiting with open arms just for you!
As an Oncology Nurse Practitioner on our team you will:
- work in collaboration with medical Oncologists to develop a comprehensive
medical history and exam
- formulate a plan of care with oncologists
- assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for individual patients
- initiate and document appropriate interventions
- evaluate and record patient/family response within practice protocol
- prescribe drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation
In addition, our Oncology Nurse Practitioners:
- assist physicians and perform procedures as needed
- conduct patient assessments and provides physician with information prior
to seeing the patient
- assess patient/family needs and provides education
- promote wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and
family needs
- incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice
- are knowledgeable of reimbursement procedures and documentation
requirements
- evaluate outcomes and coordinate discharge plans
No two days are necessarily the same here for our Oncology Nurse Practitioners. One day you could be providing case management for oncology clients and their families. The next day you are the resource person for the nursing staff providing information being studied in clinical trials. Qualifications for this Oncology Nurse Practitioner opportunity:
- Master's Degree in a Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing
education and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
- Must have 3-5 years experience in the physiologic and psychological
effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment.
- AOCN certification is required.
