We are seeking to hire a Two Software Architects to ensure our system continue to operate in excellence.

As a Software Architect on our team you will be responsible for
. leading the design effort in developing innovative solutions for new functionality and improvements to the existing CVX platform.
This includes defining a standard way of pursuing CVX application development (including coding standards, tools, and architecture), understanding the broader system environment, having a thorough understanding of the intricacies and dependencies of other applications that tie into CVX and communicating these architectural concepts to developers.

These Software Architect positions support the full life cycle of projects including
• design/requirements,
• coding/programming and testing, and
• maintenance.
• serving as a mentor and technical leader for the CVX development team to ensure architectural solutions integrate smoothly with existing infrastructure and standards.

- Your days as a Software Architect will be spent doing the following:

• Defining the overall architectural direction of the CVX solution as it relates to new software modules and enhancements to existing code. Where possible, create solutions that integrate and leverage the infrastructure currently within the Davis Vision technology organization.
• Participating in analysis and evaluation of industry best practices and emerging technologies to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating other capabilities within CVX.
• Working closely with business owners to clarify project scope, business requirements and functional specifications, including providing and evaluating alternative options where appropriate.
• Serving as technical lead for requirements analysis, design definition and development activities related to core architectural and software components of CVX.
• Working with product development team to develop applications that ensure client satisfaction with the CVX product.
• Defining and approving application standards and specifications; provide oversight for definition of product content and ensure that developers are informed of client and IT requirements and policies.
• Providing guidance to staff on CVX software development and maintenance.
• Handling complications arising from the development of new software.
• Communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale to Sr. Staff and peers (both technical and non-technical) to invoke discussion and acceptance of ways to drive efficiencies within CVX.
• Ensuring the overall integrity of the CVX software architecture.
• Working with internal associates to identify business challenges and deliver solutions for identified opportunities.
• Developing work plans for projects as assigned.
• Assisting in training new associates both within department and within business units.
• Completing all required documentation to meet department standards.
• Serving as project leader when needed.
• Being On call as required.
• Adhering to privacy and confidential and proprietary company policies and procedures (i.e. HIPAA).
• Participating in any/all training and educational activities necessary to fulfill at least the minimum requirements as specified within .departmental goals. This is in addition to, the completion of any activities necessary for the maintenance of professional affiliations or organizational requirements.
• Completing additional responsibilities as required by changing business needs.

Must haves for these Software Architect roles:

• Eight or more years of application architecture and/or system analysis and development experience.
• Experience with PC’s and LAN systems recommended.
• Software experience required: C#, Java, Visual Basic, TSQL
• Demonstrative experience in delivery of complex systems in a wide range of technologies and must have experience with Windows NT, Unix, SQL, DB2, .Net, SOA, Web Services, Highly Scalable Architecture and systems.
• Ability to independently translate business requirements analysis into technical design specifications and development.
• Experience with full software lifecycle (requirements, analysis, design, construction and testing).
• Familiarity with application architecture components.
• Fully conversant in current industry architectural standards and best practices and able to drive technical/architectural vision.
• Insurance/Retail experience a plus.’

Educational Requirements for these Software Architect roles:
- 4 year Computer Science Degree or equivalent.
