Job Description:
• The BA is a senior-Level BA with experience in gathering, documenting and presenting IT technical and functional dependencies and requirements and business process analysis.
• This BA also has a proven track record in working with end users, stakeholders, and/or customers.
• This BA will also have a documented history showing proficiency in writing test cases and has experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and operational analysis.
• This BA should be an excellent communicator and require little to no direction or supervision.
• In addition, this BA will have documented experience and knowledge working with specific niche skill sets required to complete complex projects. (i.e. - SAP, specific SAP Modules, specific software development).
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Expert certification preferred in 2014, required in 2015.
• The business analyst is responsible for gathering, documenting and presenting solution requirements to effectively capture the business need and convey understanding to technical staff.
• They also have the aptitude or ability through experience or education to understand business processes and document work flows.
• They use learned knowledge of business processes for troubleshooting, process redesign, reengineering, etc.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with internal customers collecting requirements, understanding and documentation of the current and future business needs
• Assist in developing the GAP analysis, and conceptual designs necessary to meet the business objectives
• Diagram business processes, complete business cases, understand business rules, conduct requests for proposals, completing decision matrices and working with vendors and contractors
• Elicit, analyze, communicate and validate business requirements
• Drive the project management and requirements management processes and ensure quality by designing, reviewing and executing test cases for software development efforts
• Assists with prioritizing & understanding current business initiatives and identifying the opportunities where technology or automation can add business value
• Effectively and proactively manage customer expectations, throughout the solution delivery process
• Translate technical information for a business audience
• Work with the customer and IT representatives to understand and document complex business needs
Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Communications, Computer Information Systems or related field
• 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst role in an IT environment
• Expert knowledge of various Software Development Lifecycle methodologies and requirement gathering techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, to build business cases, to forecast resource capacity, and to calculate ROI
• Demonstrated skills in building and maintaining productive working relationships within a highly-matrixed organization that maintains alignment between business strategy and technology
• Strong working knowledge of a distributed manufacturing and sales business model processes such as production, supply planning, EDI, procurement, and inventory management
• Ability to conduct detailed analysis, understanding of emerging technologies, re-engineering business process and recommend necessary changes
• Ability to think strategically and evaluate organizational structure changes that may be required in order to improve business process
• Ability to present ideas, decisions and recommendations that can drive and influence business change
