Sr Cost Accountant
Acts as Project Lead on department projects and key contributor on division projects. Responsible for organization wide compliance, training and development as it relates to Corporate Accounting. Plans, studies and collects data to determine costs of business activity and analyze data to obtain and record results. Responsible for preparation of monthly cost reports and maintenance of cost accounting system. Responsible for Quarterly Cost Summary, Electronic Data Information and accountable for complying with all laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities. Job duties require the application and knowledge at the senior professional level.
Responsibilities:
Identify, analyze and resolve complex business problems independently.
Assists senior management with strategic planning initiatives and provides advice and recommendations to department and business unit management
Stays abreast of regulations and policy changes from state and federal and other governing bodies, identifies business impact, recommends solutions and/or related business changes and advises management accordingly.
Maintains and updates Cost file to ensure that product cost and customer pricing are correct on daily sales activity.
Maintains/updates cost accounting master file, prepares cost accounting statistical studies and time records and produces monthly cost reports.
Performs basic administrative tasks to maintain account information and complete required daily activity reporting, including but not limited to performing and verifying data entry, audit reports, account database maintenance, file maintenance, etc.
Responsible for the most complex department assignments and tasks such as SEC filing and reporting, International / Corporate consolidation of Business Accounts.
Maintains and establishes appropriate confidentiality in regard to sensitive material and information.
Interfaces with customers and vendors, establishing and maintaining positive business relationships internally and externally to insure effective, efficient and confidential coordination of information, services and the promoting of company goals.
Demonstrates teamwork to insure the achievement of individual, team, and company goals.
Accountable for complying with all laws and regulations in accounting field
Performs other duties as required.
Advanced oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and all levels of management.
Ability to prioritize and perform efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to explain inquiries, problems and non-routine matters related to department activity.
Capable of analyzing and resolving difficulties, seeking the appropriate level of assistance from and interaction with others
Ability to apply knowledge, procedure and guidelines to resolve processing problems or issues.
Ability to perform advanced math calculations and apply advanced accounting concepts with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills and to apply knowledge, procedure and guidelines to resolve problem issues.

Understands the fundamentals of the business and establishes priorities in line with the needs of the business
Capable of maintaining situations to which there has been no prior exposure or for which no clear road map exists
Perform with limited latitude for independent action and judgment within the framework of the job. Verify work in the context of recommendations for action to department manager
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and CPA required
Six years job specific experience. Experience in a manufacturing field preferred.
Intermediate computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications (MS Word, Excel, AS400, Inet, and Electronic mail) required.
Knowledge of basic accounting concepts, terminology, and practices also required.
