OVERVIEW
The Controller is responsible for managing, reviewing and overseeing accounting and reporting for an organization and its affiliated entities.
DUTIES
• Directing the accounting functions of an organization and its affiliates.
• Ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements.
• Preparation of financial reports and overseeing their evaluation.
• Oversight of statutory accounting for an off-shore captive insurance company.
• Maintain relationships with key banking parties for any necessary letters of credit and trust accounting requirements.
• Oversight of accounts payable, billing and collections functions.
• Presenting the various accounting reports to the executive management and making suitable observations and recommendations.
• Managing operational data and maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
• Preventing inaccuracies in financial statements by setting up internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting.
• Reviewing financial data periodically to ensure fairness and completeness of the data.
• Developing system controls for ensuring data integrity.
• Developing proper operational, data documentation and troubleshooting procedures.
• Liaison with accounting software system vendors, consultants and tax accountants.
• Conducting account reconciliations and analysis.
• Leading the company’s monthly and yearly closing.
• Assisting in special projects whenever asked

• Must be good at organizing and time management.
• Is expected to have latitude and creativity.
• Should have good judgement, planning skills and leadership traits
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant-including keeping abreast of current accounting pronouncements
• 10+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting
• Technical skills and experience in financial reporting, consolidation accounting and Statutory Accounting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting packages is desirable.
• Supervisory experience required.
