POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Corporate Finance Department
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide comprehensive decision support to the organizations leadership though processes around reporting, planning, analysis and strategy. Business Analyst - FP&A will be part of a team responsible for delivering value-added business analysis as well as defining and reporting meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead to insightful, accurate business decision-making. As a key member of the Corporate Finance team this position will work with the Company Executives to provide valuable decision support and will be the primary conduit between various Business Units and Corporate Accounting. This position will play a key role in developing and implementing processes around month-end and year-end close, variance analysis and budgetary reporting and forecast
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage an FP&A functions capable of supporting the corporate growth strategy and ensuring financial risk are properly and timely surfaced to management.
- Responsible for calculating monthly sales commissions and incentives
- Development and monitoring of the company’s annual budget and monthly forecasts, include establishing budgeting tools, setting timelines, acting as project manager to ensure all budgets are accurate, comprehensive and completed on time.
- Work closely with corporate accounting and finance on the monthly close process to identify and report budgeted variances to the financial statements and internal projects
- Assist in external audits as necessary, including the annual financial audit
- Be responsible for the monthly variance analysis and reporting in assigned areas
- Prepare and add value to presentations to the Board of Directors and Senior Management
- Responsible for reporting on key business metrics, including performance analysis of customers, factories, divisions, and product lines including profitability levers
- Responsible for ad hoc analysis including sensitivity for the CEO and CFO
- Work with the Cost Accounting Function on monthly, quarterly and ad hoc flash reporting
- Responsible for the overall integrity of the corporate Business Intelligence Tools
- Assist end-users in dashboard design, training, and education on use of the BI tools
- Author the monthly / quarterly / annual-YTD MD&A for the senior leadership team
- Listen to quarterly investor calls of our competitors (e.g. SealAir), and investigate the competitive landscape as requested by the CFO
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
• Demonstrated competency in FP&A.
• Experience with a Business Intelligence Tool, data-mining techniques, and MS-Office Suite of products.
• 3-5 years of finance experience (manufacturing and global operations helpful).
