Job Function Summary: Network Security Engineer
Network Security Engineer. The successful candidate will be a team player with wide experience in Network Technologies, focusing on security. The role will include architecture, engineering and operations. Problem solving, design, and communications skills are critical.
Principal Responsibilities
• Analyze, design, and implement network security solutions to meet the technical and business requirements of a highly evolving, growing company.
• Act as the subject matter expert for network security to support business requirements, including mobility
• Lead major networking security programs and strategic initiatives
• Establish standard designs, platforms, configurations and processes in the network security space as well as improve the operational efficiency of the team.
• Design, deploy, and operate state-of-the-art perimeter defenses as well as internal defenses, including best practice deployments for next-generation-firewalls, IPS/ IDS, URL filtering solutions, and AV-antimalware
• Implement automation to measure the network security infrastructure’s efficacy, reliability, quality, and performance .
• Pilot emerging technologies to maintain and increase the business’s competitive advantage.
• Lead troubleshooting sessions.
Qualifications/Skills Required
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or engineering discipline or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years varied experience in networking and security roles to include extensive experience in architecture, engineering and operations, concentrating on firewall,
• Extensive hands-on experience with firewalls, IPS/IDS, remote-access/VPN appliances, load-balancers from leading vendors (Cisco, Checkpoint, PaloAlo, Juniper, F5)
• Thorough understanding of network protocols and packet analysis for advanced troubleshooting
• Understanding of companion infrastructure domains: storage, server technologies (hardware, network interface cards, operating system optimization), databases, virtualization.
• Experience with the engineering and operation of enterprise class installations.
• Extraordinary problem solving abilities.
• A passion for technology, especially security. Always questioning and working to improve.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
