The Procurement Coordinator will provide general materials and equipment support for refinery operations, routine maintenance, turnarounds, and capital projects as well as any other functional areas of the refinery as necessary. This positions primary responsibility is assuring availability of non-stock MRO items, specialty items, equipment and assemblies required to meet the operational requirements of the refinery. The Procurement Coordinator will manage a small team of buyers in the department.
DUTIES:
* Motivate and coach team members
* Develop strategic goals in conjunction with the Procurement Manager
* Drive the implementation of procurement strategies, policies, and procedures
* Develop and elevate team sourcing and purchasing knowledge
* Continuously develop new sources of supply and maintain Approved Supplier list
* Coordinate with refinery functional areas to obtain information, resolve problems, and identify purchasing requirement for new or redesigned MRO materials, equipment, and supplies
* Develop and execute competitive sourcing materials, equipment, and supplies
* Develop and maintain the refinery consignment strategy and supplies
* Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers
* Monitor and analyze supplier performance
* Lead and participate cost saving programs and projects
MUST HAVES:
* 15+ years in Materials Management or Purchasing in Refinery or Chemical Plant Environment
* BS in Business, Supply Chain, Technical Field, or equivalent work experience
* Knowledge of refinery terminology, processes, equipment, and materials
* Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts
* Proficient wish Microsoft Suite
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Negotiation skills and experience required
* Must have previous supervisory experience
* Strong experience with SAP modules including Plant Maintenance
* Knowledge of accounting and budgeting process as it relates to Procurement
