150458 Catia Designer
Our customer located in Pontiac, MI is looking for a Catia Designer for a long-term contractual position.
The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience level.
Summary
• Using manual or computer aided design tools, designs and drafts working layouts, master drawing of automotive vehicle components, assemblies, systems from specifications, sketches, models, prototype or verbal instructions by performing the following duties:
o Analyzes specifications, sketches, engineering drawings, ideas and related design data to determine critical factors affecting design of components.
o Draws rough sketches and performs mathematical computations to develop design and work out detailed specifications of components.
o Applies knowledge of mathematical formulas and physical laws. Uses conventional and computerized work aids to make calculations.
o Performs preliminary and advanced work in development of working layouts and final master drawings adequate for detailing parts and units of design.
o Makes revisions to size, shape, and arrangement of parts to create practical design.
o Confers with the Project Engineer and other staff members to resolve design problems.
Job Requirements
• Must have at least 3 to 5 years of CAD design experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Must be experienced in Catia design software; additional experience with UG-NX is a plus.
• Experience with OEM data exchange systems (particularly Chrysler TeamCenter) is a plus.
• Should have experience in product design, and not just performing engineering changes.
o Experience with the design of interior trim is preferred.
o Knowledge of injection molded plastic part design is highly recommended.
o Experience with the design of functional assemblies is a plus.
• Familiarity with GD&T concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Required Education
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
