Byrnes & Rupkey, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a Food Safety & Quality Manager in the central Iowa region, not far from Des Moines. This position is a direct hire for a successful and innovative food company.

Responsibilities:
• Ensuring compliance with product safety and quality, GMPs, HACCP, USDA;
• Implementing the SQF program;
• Developing, implementing, reviewing, maintaining and continually improving the food safety and quality system;
• Overseeing the product, process testing and environmental monitoring;
• Auditing the processing plants, biosecurity, site security and compliance with company policies;
• Attending bi-annual Processing and FSQ meetings.

Education: 4-year degree required; Quality, Food or Biological Sciences, or related disciplines preferred.

Required Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in food, pharmaceuticals, or related products processing or production;
• 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience;
• Strong knowledge of Food Quality Systems;
• Certifications including SQF, HACCP, ASQ, PAACO, or Water Operator are preferred;
• Strong organizational, communication, and training skills.
