Thinkpath Engineering Services is seeking a Stress Engineer, to work a 3-6 month contract onsite at our client's facility. This position is located in Saint-Hubert, Québec.
Responsibilities:
• Analysis work for a significant portion of a sub-system of a major project and diverse projects;
• Operates in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews;
• Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors.
• Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve quality, cost, weight and performance based on traditional strength calculations together with possible involvement of other engineers and/or supply management;
• Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other engineers, manufacturing and/or management.
• The Stress Engineer is responsible for limit and ultimate strength analysis of landing gear components and related systems components to meet product specifications and related acceptance criteria that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction and product quality goals.
Qualifications:
• University degree in mechanical (or Equivalent) engineering discipline;
• 10 years’ experience in traditional stress analysis in the aerospace industry with a minimum of 2 years on landing gear structures;
• Must be a self-starter, highly self-motivated and eager to learn;
• Must have outstanding facilitation, oral and written communication skills;
• Experience using Boeing Design Manual and Lockheed Stress Memo Manual.
Skills:
• Skill in using computer engineering tools;
• Significant experience using Excel and VBA complement;
• Specialized knowledge of MSC’s suite of software, specifically with regards to PATRAN and MARC as well as Dassault SIMULIA is an asset;
• Knowledge of the product development process;
• Understanding of engineering principles as they relate to the company product
