Position Title Control Software Test Leader - Embedded Control Systems - PA #2772

Essential Job Functions:
* The position's primary focus will be leading a 15 member engineering team in the execution of projects involving the verification and validation (V&V) activities for certification of real-time embedded locomotive control systems
* Develop opportunities of organic growth in the areas of locomotive controls and testing
* Lead project and program activities such as program planning, forecasting and client reviews
* Implement and execute world class delivery as measured by client satisfaction surveys
* Mentor and train a customer focused team:
o Evaluate design documentation and Matlab/Simulink models for expected functionality
o Identify V&V requirements for each functional subsystem / customer
o Generate test plans using IBM DOORS software
o Execute validation Test on client hardware using a Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) simulator and/or actual locomotive
Simulator Hardware & Software includes: VME, VXI, PXI, LabVIEW, Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow
Configuration management: TeamCenter, DOORS & ClearQuest
o Identify defects, perform root cause analysis and recommend necessary design changes required to complete successful validation
o Report all defects and document all software changes using ClearQuest
o Develop formal documentation throughout the project lifecycle and report in compliance with the design review management and action tracking system
o Interface with peer groups and develop continuous improvements in the overall test process
Qualifications:
o BS or higher in either Electrical and Computer Engineering or equivalent
o Minimum 5 years of experience with the work scope described above
o Ability to work in a customer facing, hands-on, team environment
o Understanding of locomotive engine controls and their functions is preferred
