Job Description:

Regional Manager (Appalachia) -

Our client is looking for a Regional Manager to be based in the Appalachian region (preference for Cincinatti, Pittsburgh, Baltimore or Louisville). The Regional Manager is responsible for developing and executing an annual business plan that drives year over year top and bottom line growth within a defined region. This position provides strategy, coaching and development to a team of Territory Managers focused on new business development. Primary responsibilities include supporting Territory Managers in sales activities for key accounts, including prospecting, clinical demonstrations, sales calls, proposal generation, presentations and negotiations across all company product lines and call points. The Regional Manager reports to the Area Sales Director.

Principal Responsibilities:

Drive year over year growth in sales revenue and profitability within a defined region.
Manage talent within the sales organization by attracting top talent, ensuring successful onboarding and focusing on development planning as a way of fostering career growth within the company.
Continually evaluate key performance metrics for the region and prepare accurate forecasting and other vital reports for sales leadership.
Evaluate market opportunities within the region and prioritize with Territory Managers.
Understand key customers and their demand drivers, including business model, financial status and relationships with GPOs/ IDNs.
Review and monitor all aspects of Sales Agreement terms and conditions. Ensures strict adherence to defined sales process and policies including FDA/GMP and ISO regulations.
Provide regular coaching to Territory Managers on sales skills and strategies. Guide Territory Managers in crafting sales solutions that meet customer needs while maximizing revenue and profitability. Conduct consistent ride along days with team.
Develop an annual business plan with specific target account goals/forecasts for each territory within the region while adhering to the region’s revenue, unit and profit budgets.
Collaborate with colleagues in Finance, Customer Care, Operations, and other departments on process improvements and other cross-functional initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. MBA preferred.
Five years of professional outside sales experience; medical device experience preferred.
Proven track record of consistent sales excellence including year over year revenue and profitability growth and exceeding assigned quotas.
Ability to assess, coach and develop sales talent.
Effectively builds rapport, trust and influences executive leaders and key C’ suite customers.
Ability to understand and articulate the value of the company’s products in both clinical and economic terms.
Ability to quickly learn product knowledge, services, market applications, policies, and procedures.
Skilled in business communications, sales presentations and influencing without formal authority.
Business management and analytical skills including negotiating, forecasting, P&L and strategic planning.
Strong commitment to following FDA/GMP and ISO 9001 regulations.
Frequent overnight travel required.
