Architect, Data Center Infrastructure Engineering
Scope of work:
Responsible for establishing and maintaining our Data Center Infrastructure, which is designed to ensure that the company’s data centers are adequately designed, maintained & protected. This is inclusive of all enterprise locations, including international, shipyards, subsidiaries, and North America locations. The individual in this position is responsible for all aspects of operations and associated technologies and their interaction with other systems. This includes operations and related technologies. The architect works proactively with the various business units and other internal departments and organizations to implement practices that meet our defined policies and standards.
Required skills/competencies:
•Lead operations activities of our IT organization, including budgeting, planning, testing, reporting and recommending appropriate remediation measures.
•Lead, develop and challenge the operations staff.
•Benchmark the operations management practices of other companies particularly those in related industries or with similar business models maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry best practices.
•Create, disseminate and (as required) update documentation of our matrix of identified operations processes, procedures & controls.
•Work directly with the business units and other internal departments and organizations to facilitate operations engineering processes, identify acceptable levels service, and establish roles and responsibilities related to the team’s function.
•Coordinates operations architecture with the enterprise architecture team
•Coordinate engineering projects with personnel from the IT organization, lines of business, and other internal departments and organizations.
•Helps develop operations engineering staff
•Follow up on deficiencies identified in monitoring reviews, self-assessments, automated assessments, and internal and external audits to ensure that appropriate remediation measures have been taken.

•In depth knowledge of all Layer 1 aspects of a data center along with the infrastructure to include UPSs, ATSs, generators, air conditioning, and fire suppression.
•In depth vendor relationship building skills.
•Knowledge of common IT methodologies.
•Knowledge of a broad range IT Operations skills along with IT standards and frameworks
Minimum bachelor of engineering or science required, with a focus on IT- or IT-engineering-related disciplines
•On the Job Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in operations engineering.
Required Certifications:
•Professional certifications: Leadership experience or related certifications.
25 50% global travel depending on project
