Applications/Generalist Support Engineer
:
1) Production support of all shipboard applications, working with several different technologies (SQL, Handheld devices, Windows/Linux/Apple platforms, etc
2) This position will act as resource for several different projects (dry docks, NewBuilds, production upgrades, etc.,)
3) Participate in User Acceptance Testing
4) Test, certify, and implement version updates received from system vendor
Required skills/competencies:
- Ambitious and Eager to take on new applications quickly
- Willingness to take on significant travel projects
- Experience in supporting packaged applications
- Experience with mobile devices (Handhelds)
- Must be able to adapt in a dynamic environment
- Ability to produce support documentation
- Analytical skills
- Incident/Problem resolution skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the Hospitality and/or Cruise industry
- Experience with systems such as Point of Sale (Revelation preferred), POS,Time & Attendance (Kronos preferred), Property Management Systems, Security systems, Internet Cafe sytems, etc..
Experience with at least one of these systems will be considered a definite plus.
- Experience with mobile technologies (Apple, Android, Windows, etc.,) a plus
- Cruise industry experience preferred
- 2/3 years of field experience
Preferred Education:
- Degree in Computer Science
- Microsoft Certification(s)
- Apple/Linux certification(s)
- Commensurate work experience
