Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support Ford Interiors division on its Cost Reduction initiatives for Hard, Soft and Door trims
The support on Cost Reduction initiatives would entail the following activities:
o Coordinate and conduct workshops to identify and implement value analysis (cost reduction) ideas on current production programs
o Identify and propose ideas for cost saving by being a part of Idea Generation discussions and events
o Participate and provide support for validating the ideas during team reviews
o Participate in change control process and, support implementation of the identified ideas
Coordinate with cross functional teams (as required) during implementation
Be the champion for implementing cost saving ideas. Escalate road blocks to leadership for resolution.
The scope of work will also include the resources to work with multiple teams within Ford to gather the necessary inputs for generation and implementation of the idea.
Qualifications
Required
BS in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Degree
3 5 years working experience in Product Development in Automotive Interiors
Proficient in design principles and techniques of Value Management/Engineering (VM/VE)
Strong problem solving skills based upon LEAN, Six Sigma methods
Knowledge and experience in Cost Engineering tools
Strong communication and problem solving abilities
Knowledgeable in Interior component / systems manufacturing processes and methods.
Knowledge of plastic resin types is a plus.
Effective oral and written communications
Self-motivated, willing to learn, wanting to make a difference
Microsoft Office Products.
Preferred
Experience with Ford Product Development process.
Overall Interior systems design/development knowledge.
Familiarity with as many as possible of the following: Engineering Standards, Teamcenter Manufacturing and assembly process at assembly plants. Engineering analyses/documentation (including 8D, 6-Panel, FMEA).
