Current Needs: Currently seeking an Administrative Assistant in Waterloo, IA. This is a long term contract opportunity.
Position Description:
Performs a full range of administrative support duties, facilitates work flow through a manager's office and typically reports to a middle- to upper-level manager, develops reports; may perform a variety of duties commensurate with this level (i.e. respond to problems similar to customer service representative, coordinate events/functions, process documents, input data and orders, department purchases; and may receive project work consistent with the skills and skill level found in the jobs other work
Creating and displaying Digital Signage, writing the weekly DESIGN @ PEC newsletter, planning/organizing/executing/communicating for Fun Committee events, auditing the Design Engineer Reference sites, creating PowerPoint presentations for Employee Information meetings, distributing mail, creating and posting information on the recognition wall, compiling and posting the yearly accomplishments, recording and uploading videos, scheduling meetings, facilitating meetings, maintaining SharePoint sites, ensuring the awards case is clean, following up on PEC Staff commitments, scheduling lunches with employees, collecting money for and communicating about Casual for a Cause, auditing conference room cleanliness and supplies, helping with STEM activities, and helping with process improvement activities
Skilled at working on multiple different activities at the same time and should also be self-directed
Researches, resolves, and responds to general customer concerns; escalates complex questions for resolution
Retrieves records or data and distributes information as appropriate in order to provide timely and accurate information to department members or external customers.
Gathers and summarizes data from various sources in order to complete reports and special projects
Job Requirements:
High school diploma/equivalent required
2 or 4 year degree preferred
Education in Communications and/or Computers in these areas is a plus
Related work experience is also a plus. However, evidence of self-learning and self-motivation is even more important
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Experience in Microsoft Office applications, including SharePoint
Fast learner and willing to learn by finding information on the computer
Ability to draft and type standard letters and memoranda from specific instructions and prepare documents for distribution
Must be able to manage updates and maintain databases, systems applications or files to ensure accurate and current information is available for use by others
Previous experience in performing analysis of basic or intermediate nature on information received, and researches or resolves discrepancies following prescribed procedures
Maintains and updates established web sites with the assistance of basic web publishing software applications. Processes and distributes incoming and outgoing mail, interoffice messages, faxes, and voicemail messages throughout the department
