Job Description
1. Coordinate all resource planning activities, including but not limited to:
• Collect planning information from LOB clients and IT management
• Ensure ongoing efficiency of resource planning functions
• Participate in acquisition planning and processes
2. Review current workload characteristics; use highly analytical modeling to predict future resource requirements; develop future forecasts.
3. Based on strategy and trends, develop capacity forecasts and recommendations to ensure proper utilization and growth.
4. Supervise the production and publication of workload analysis and resource utilization reporting, including ad hoc reports.
5. Provide guidance and education to Resource Planning Analysts and non-resource planning staff/management in other IT areas.
Required Skills and Competencies:
1. Bachelor's degree, either in Information Technology related field or business or equivalent education and related training
2. Twelve years of experience in a large-scale systems environment(s), with a minimum of six years related to resource planning responsibilities; must have experience working with Mainframes, ideally z/OS and z/VM
3. Experience working directly with both technical and business management, including higher-level management, on business planning issues
4. Strong understanding of statistical analysis and modeling techniques
5. Demonstrated ability to creatively develop solutions to complex problems
6. Ability to translate high-level business planning information into technical information, and vice versa
7. Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
