Sr. Structural Engineer, PE, who will be supporting our client, located in Aurora, NC. You must have 7+ years’ experience performing engineering duties in planning, designing and overseeing construction and maintenance of heavy industrial building structures and facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Manage and direct staff members and support the construction, or maintenance activities at the Industrial project site.
• Provide technical advice to industrial and managerial personnel regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs.
• Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards.
• Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
• Compute Results from soils or materials testing to determine the adequacy and strength of designed or existing foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel.
• Compute load and grade requirements and material stress factors to determine design specifications.
• Plan and design structures; following construction and government standards, using design software and drawing tools.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
• Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations or establish reference points, grades, or elevations to guide construction.
• Maintain regular attendance and timeliness on a consistent basis.
• Conduct business and interactions with a positive attitude that projects a high level of professionalism.
