Power Transmission System Planning including, the development, preparation and implementation of transmission power flow, short circuit and reliability studies, dynamic analyses, and generation interconnection and sub-transmission studies, using a variety of simulation models to determine and recommend solutions to senior management. Considerable interaction with Generation Developers, Distribution Companies and all other functional areas within the Transmission Business Unit. This position will involve studies and provide or support expert testimony with the PUC, FERC and other regulatory agencies.

The Transmission Planning Engineer position is responsible for:
the performance of transmission planning studies
simulation of electric transmission system behavior
analysis of results
development of recommendations to ensure the continued reliability and economic efficiency of the New England electric power system.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, BSEE, power system option and 8+ years experience performing power system studies is required
MSEE and or PE License is preferred
Extensive hands-on simulation modeling and loadflow experience using PSS/E
Proficient user of production cost modeling applications such as PowerWorld, Promod, or Gridview
System planning experience using ISO / RTO methodologies preferred
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
