Qualifications:
Required Experience and Skills: Bachelor Degree in IT, engineering, packaging, or related science field; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Demonstrated project management, leadership, and teamwork skills; Effective organizational and analytical skills; 3+ years’ experience in IT, engineering, quality, regulatory, or documentation support.
Preferred Experience and Skills: Proficiency in Documentum; Proficiency in MS Office Applications, SharePoint; Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat; Experience in navigating SAP ECC and Trackwise for change controls; Experience in documentation or data administration.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the administration and stewardship of global packaging documentation and data in MIDAS (Merck Integrated Document Architecture and Services) and other databases. This includes maintaining a large documentation system which encompasses the entire Merck line of human health products. Exercises judgment in solving administrative problems within standard procedures and practices. Provides support and training related to MIDAS and other systems used to house global packaging documentation and data. Supports continuous improvements in packaging documentation, data, and knowledge management.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Reports to and receives general technical and administrative guidance from the Senior Specialist, Rapid Response and Systems Management, and works as a functional group member to meet objectives within the group.
2. Independently drafts Packaging Component Specifications, Bills of Material, and planning documents, when appropriate, to transmit to the MMD manufacturing sites and third party partners. This involves researching component histories, change request documents, and verification of chemical nomenclatures, technical compliance requirements, product codes, and safety captions.
3. Provides support and assistance to the customers and the department in researching problems related to and change histories of packaging components. Provides support in the processing of change requests to ensure accurate manufacturing information is transmitted to the MMD sites and third party partners. .
4. Works independently to provide information to customers from the department's documentation library, MIDAS, and/or from global systems (SAP and GCM Trackwise) for packaging related issues.
