Intermediate Computer Operator Technology Services
Profile
Intermediate Computer Operator is an entry level position within the functional area and discipline in technology services. The operator is semi-supervised with little latitude for independent judgment. The intermediate computer operator works under clearly defined guidelines. The intermediate computer operator serves as first level contact for all system monitoring and alerting for all data centers. The operator has basic skills with moderate level of proficiency in the technology services functional area and discipline. The operator consults with senior peers on complex projects. The intermediate computer operator performs documented standard activities related to day-to-day support, administration, and maintenance of systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Performs routine tasks as directed such as server and application monitoring, database backups and restores and creation of media
• Assists in facilitating Incident Management protocol to aid teams in returning all systems to optimal functionality in the quickest time possible
• Contributes to specific objectives and outcomes as directed for functional area
• Performs maintenance and assists technology services group with any/all other technical duties related to the functional area standard operating procedures
• Monitors and analyze systems
• Responds to requests within designated SLA timing or escalate to meet deadlines
• Serves as first level support for the technology services functional area
• Helps create and maintain technical documentation
• Partners with senior peers to maintain system performance and reliability
• Assists technical groups in revising technical documentation
• Supports and leverage automation to decrease overall system deployment and support cycle time
• Documents standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for functional area
