PRIMARY FUNCTION SUMMARY
The HR Business Partner serves as a strategic business partner to the North American plant management teams on issues of significant organizational importance. Together with HR teammates, partners with management to implement human resources strategies that support key organizational goals. Manages and coordinates value-added human resources activities, such as training and development, staffing, employee relations, and performance management and coaching and employee engagement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Employee Relations
1. Provides advice and counsel to plant leadership teams on key challenges and concerns
2. Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale within a participative, inclusive workplace.
3. Ensures that Company employment and employee relations policies and practices comply with the applicable laws
4. Conduct highly sensitive internal investigations into HR or other business matters as required. Prepare strategy, collect and present information, advise organization leadership on appropriate action, and represent the company as required.
5. Oversee/participate in outplacement and exit interview process.
6. Participate in application of disciplinary practices for all employees, up to and including termination.
7. Consult with legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with state-specific laws. Study recent legislation and court decisions to assess industry trends.
8. Participate in company-wide policy development and implementation. Recommend new approaches, and/or policies and procedures to effect continual improvement in department efficiency and services.
Staffing and Recruitment
1. Assist with staff planning, job description development and recruiting strategy for plant and field employees
2. Responsible for recruitment of employees in conjunction with the hiring manager.
Compensation, Benefits, Rewards and Recognition
1. Assist with benchmarking of compensation and benefits to keep FPI current with market. Make salary recommendations and assist with salary administration
2. Communicate and assist employees with understanding all group insurance benefits and all other employee benefits
3. Oversee the communication and delivery of recognition processes and events, either Company-wide or locally-produced to be consistent with company Core Values.
Training and Development
1. Evaluate training needs; develop, deliver or through outside resources, provide a variety of training courses/classes designed to meet identified training requirements.
2. Advise and educate team leaders and organization staff on organizational development, performance management, compensation and employee relations issues.

Position Description
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Generalist background with broad knowledge of employee relations, staffing, wage and salary administration, training and development and well-developed administrative skills is required. Should possess 6-10 years’ experience within the HR generalist role. Experience in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS

3. Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, policies and procedures.

7. Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
8. Business acumen which demonstrates understanding of short and long term business demands.
