General Summary of Position
Troubleshoot control problems on CNC and manual machines. CNC Technicians need to have extensive skills in various types of PLC controllers. Responsible for daily repair and preventive maintenance that enhances the uptime of the equipment.
Essential Functions
1. Undertake maintenance servicing of CNC equipment.
2. Control and maintain spares stock levels to meet demands.
3. Respond to off shift hours and weekends as necessary.
4. Help set up, edit, and perform the appropriate PM’s for the CNC and manual machines.
5. Troubleshoot problems down to the PC board level, using oscilloscopes, multi-meters, bridge circuit testers, and signal generators.
6. Keep all machines running at their optimum.
7. Perform daily functions with minimal supervision.
8. Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of Managers, Supervisors, Group Leaders, Safety/Environmental Manager, or Director of Human Resource.
9. Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
1. Must know and understand ladder logic, electrical, basic hydraulic schematics, and CNC functions.
3. Solid understanding of electrical, hydraulic circuits.
4. Solid analytic troubleshooting skills.
5. Sense of urgency when responding to critical path equipment that is down.
6. Team player and good communication skills.
Qualifications
1. 2+ year experience as a CNC Technician is strongly preferred.
2. A CNC Tech apprenticeship or related formal documented training would be a plus.
3. Come highly recommended with excellent references.
