Job Description::
Overview Middleware Python Developer in Mobile development area
Basic Function
Provide technical expertise• through a hands-on approach to teams and projects developing enterprise services, Internet based applications, and business support tools.
Lead and/or participate in• the design, definition, planning, development, and implementation of and projects conforming to CIGNA’s Software Development Best Practices.
Function as a hands-on• member of the Mobile Delivery team - guiding development team members to design, document, develop, deploy, and maintain applications.
Design and conduct proof of• concepts, and final production code for innovative software solutions, leveraging Mobile technologies, and standard application frameworks. Maintain deep levels of involvement in the implementation process.
Ensure adherence to• existing enterprise direction and architectural strategies.
Technical/Functional Skills
Proven experience in• architecture/design and development of Web Services for the mobile Applications. This middle layer acts as the service provider for all of the iOS and Android applications.
High proficiency in Django• framework (Python 2.x or 3.0 ) and common areas (json, memory management, Database design with Oracle technologies, Pyunit Testing framework, PEP 8 coding standards, Security)
Front end device• development experience is a huge plus.
Experience with web• application development for mobile form factors
Experience in rapid• prototyping and storyboard/wireframe development as part of application design U/X and design knowledge is a plus.
Comfortable in configuring• on multiple operating systems (Mac/Windows/*nix/RHEL)
Decent understanding of• application performance tuning
Proficient in self-testing• of applications, unit testing and use of mock frameworks, test-driven development (TDD), and continuous integration/testing.
Experience in building a• software product’ which will be transitioned to others for support and further evolution (including documentation, complete tooling/instrumentation, etc.)
Experience using some of• the following technologies:
o Layered architecture, components and interfaces
o Languages: Python
o Web Services: JSON, REST, SOAP.
o Development Environments: Eclipse IDE or Any other
o Web Servers: Apache, Django Server.
o Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2/UDB, SQLite
o Architectural Design using Visio, UML diagrams and Use Case documentation
Required
At least 7 plus years of recent• experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting cross-platform computing applications in a large-scale, mainframe, midrange, and distributed environment as a Software Developer.
Ability to perform detailed analysis of• business problems and technical environments.
Strong oral and written communication• skills.
Strong teamwork and collaboration• skills.
Ability to think strategically and• implement iteratively. Ability to estimate financial impact of design/architecture alternatives.
Proven track• record of success in challenging the status quo, implementing new ideas and designs with a practical orientation.
Business area subject matter expertise• preferred
Experience with application servers•
Generic Skills
Should quickly pick up new• technologies, programming languages.
Work well autonomously and have a good• intuition for what others expect of you.
Love development, and be comfortable• being consistently coding/designing/creating.
